I had been dreaming about going to Disneyland Paris for a quarter of a century. I remember seeing the opening day special on TV and hoping I could go someday. I know it was 25 years because I went  for the 25th anniversary. The park is beautiful, but beyond that it does not have much going for it. When I went tons of rides were breaking down. Space Mountain had relaunched as Star Wars: Hyperspace Mountain about 6 months earlier but still clearly had kinks to work out as it would open only to close again repeatedly throughout the day. Thunder Mountain was down most of the day. Other smaller attractions also had closures in the park. Across the way at Walt Disney Studios Park things were about the same. The Tram Tour was down a good amount of the time I was visiting. I was fortunate to get to ride it right before heading back to Disneyland though. The Tower of Terror was down almost the entire time I was in the park. Maintenance seems to be a big problem at both parks. The

America used to have lots of small amusements parks. Each city would have its own small amusement park. Almost all of these parks are now gone though. Still some remain. One of those small local amusement parks that still remains and is still fun for all is Paul Bunyan Land. Paul Bunyan Land may not be around forever since a hero who cuts down trees may offend some so you better go while you can before it becomes Johnny Appleseed Park. Paul Bunyan Land is located Brainerd, Minnesota. Paul Bunyan Land is very similar to a small country fair but with permanent rides. The rides are studier and long lasting unlike the rides you see at fairs. While these are clearly permanent rides there are no big budget rides here. Balboa Park is located in San Diego California. Balboa Park has many museums and they are all conveniently in one location. Besides museums there are other attractions in Balboa Park including the World Famous San Diego Zoo which is considered by many to be the best Zoo in the world. Theme Parks are always a fun adventure. If you want truly unique theme park experience though you need to go to a theme park in a foreign country. A great theme park for amusement park enthusiast is in Guatemala. If you go to Xetulul you will have a very unique experience worth telling others at home about when you come back. Xetulul is the only theme park in Guatemala and the only one in Central America. There is a water park though called Xocomil right next door owned by the same company. Xetulul is located in the not often frequented Retalhuleu Department. Both parks get one million visitors a year and are the top tourist destination in the country.
