Retired Travel Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure Juneau, Alaska

Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure in Juneau, Alaska is open from May to September. The gardens are open daily from 9AM to 6PM. The site is located on 50 acres. Adults are $27 and kids 6-12 are $16. There are no senior discounts. We visited while on a cruise so we had to take an Uber to get to the location from the port. We didn't have to park and I didn't pay attention to the parking situation for those with limited mobility.

When you enter there is a simple building where you pay, get food, store mobility devices, restroom, and a gift shop. The building is well decorated with upside down umbrellas and lots of hanging plants. I thought it looked nice. The restrooms were well maintained.

If you have mobility issues you have to leave them behind. Most of the experience is riding in and open tour bus with a tour guide. So you will be sitting. If it is hard for you to sit long do not worry it is about a 20 minute ride.

The one problem some with mobility issues may have is once you get higher up the mountain guests can get off and walk around. The there is a well maintained path that has some great views of Juneau. The path has a incline and may be hard for some. I was able to walk it but if I was having a bad day I would not have been able to. If this is a problem you can just stay on the bus.

When you finish walking around you hop on another bus and take a ride of similar length down the mountain back to the entrance. There are plenty of buses and you will not have to wait long for a ride back down. The tour guides give you lots of interesting information and the buses are not that big so you can talk to them and ask questions.

It was a beautiful place. I really enjoyed the experience. It might be a little pricey for a short experience but it is a good deal compared to the excursions the ship charges. There is no need to go through your ship either. I recommend Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure and would visit again if I go back to Alaska.
